Sparkes Marina

Sparkes Marina is situated on the south-east tip of Hayling Island within Chichester Harbour, one of Europe's largest natural harbours. An array of birds and marine life, stunning sunsets and calm waters are just some of the advantages of our beautiful location.

There are plenty of anchorages to explore within the immediate area, such as Itchenor with its quaint pubs or Bosham village. Further afield, sail west to historic Portsmouth, explore the coastline around the Isle of Wight or go racing in the Solent.

Our Northney, Hamble and Solent marinas are all within easy reach; and for our annual berth holders, who benefit from the exclusive privileges of our Club Outlook scheme, the short-stay visitor berthing charge is waived. A cruise to the West Country is also appealing and annual berth holders can take advantage of the reciprocal berthing arrangements at our marinas in Plymouth and Torbay. The more adventurous can visit the Channel Islands, Holland and Belgium.

The facilities at this 150-berth marina include 24-hour showers and toilets, a laundry room, an office / reception, and also the popular Marina Jaks on-site restaurant and bar.

Boatyard Facilities

In addition to its berthing and marina services, Sparkes Marina has many skilled professionals on site. These include specialists in engineering, outboard engines, glass fibre repairs, rigging, sails and covers, marine carpentry, electrical, boat management and valeting. All our tenants are professionally qualified trades people who offer top quality work at competitive prices.

Our facilities include storage ashore for over 200 boats as well as a 40 ton mobile crane for lifting out and boat movement. Other services on site include fuel, chandlery, new and used yacht sales at Sparkes Marine Agency, and the Hayling Sea School which offers tuition in power and sail vessels.

Go straight across into Manor Road which continues into Beach Road. At the end of Beach Road turn left at the roundabout onto the seafront. Proceed to the end of the seafront, following the road to the left and turn first right into Southwood Road. Continue almost to the end of Southwood Road and turn left into Bosmere Road then right into Sandypoint Road. Turn left into Bracklesham Road, then take the first left into Itchenor Road, following this road until you reach Sparkes Marina.

By Rail
Sparkes Marina is located around 6 miles from Havant’s mainline station, with regular connections to London Waterloo.

By Boat
Enter Chichester Harbour and proceed on the starboard side of the channel until the Hayling Island Sailing Club mast is bearing 240 degrees M (236 degrees T) on the portside. From this position you will see an East Cardinal Mark with tide gauge bearing approximately 290 degrees M (286 degrees T) and a jetty pontoon on the sailing club shore. Alter course to port onto a heading of 281 degrees M (277 degrees T). Adjust your course to pass midway between the cardinal mark and the pontoon. You will now see transit marks consisting of two dayglo orange St Andrews Crosses, bearing 281 degrees M (277 degrees T), adjusting your course to keep the transit in line. Proceed down the transit for approximately three cables, leaving the pile mooring to port. As you pass the last pile mooring you will see steel piles with red can top marks on your port bow (South West). Follow these marks which will lead you into the Marina. The approach channel from the Sailing Club to the Marina has been dredged to 2 metres below CD.
